Community 1st

Community 1st is a strategic community violence intervention (CVI) and engagement initiative launched in partnership with Reck League, Guns Down & the City of Norfolk. The program is designed to reduce crime and improve public safety by addressing the root causes of violence through neighborhood revitalization, expanded access to local resources, and meaningful community involvement. The “Community 1ST Initiative” uses a 5-tier approach to promote a healthier landscape that can support Violence Intervention, Problem De-escalation, Information Coordination & Community Relationship building. We look to create a model that can be replicated throughout the state and country.

Community 1ST Initiative

This new exciting partnership was created between “Reck League”, “Guns Down” and host city, Norfolk, VA; and looks to provide CVI support in various hotspots areas via our “Community First Initiative”. The “Community First Initiative” uses a 5-tier approach to promote a healthier landscape that can support Violence Intervention, Problem De-escalation, Information Coordination & Community Relationship building. We look to create a model that can be replicated throughout the state and country.

Human Trafficking Awareness

ABOUT ALERT APP

We are on the ground in Hampton Roads, VA addressing human trafficking through prevention, education, and rapid community response. We provide awareness trainings for youth, parents, educators, and neighbors. This app will help the community recognize grooming tactics, spot red flags early, and respond without shame or judgment. When someone goes missing, we can’t wait mobilize and spread verified information to trusted partners and our community networks. The ALERT app will make it easier to submit a missing-person alert with a photo and key details and instantly notify on-the-ground responders across the region.
