Community 1st is a strategic community violence intervention (CVI) and engagement initiative launched in partnership with Reck League, Guns Down & the City of Norfolk. The program is designed to reduce crime and improve public safety by addressing the root causes of violence through neighborhood revitalization, expanded access to local resources, and meaningful community involvement. The “Community 1ST Initiative” uses a 5-tier approach to promote a healthier landscape that can support Violence Intervention, Problem De-escalation, Information Coordination & Community Relationship building. We look to create a model that can be replicated throughout the state and country.
This new exciting partnership was created between “Reck League”, “Guns Down” and host city, Norfolk, VA; and looks to provide CVI support in various hotspots areas via our “Community First Initiative”.
